Dear Group,

33% of Americans are overweight and I am one of them. I need to lose about 100 lbs. Yes, I typed 100 pounds. I have decided to finally get healthy by diet and exercise! I am asking for help.

I have two thoughts….

FIRST --IF YOU ARE ALREADY HEALTHY.
Please consider helping by giving me some accountability. Pledge a few pounds of your time. For example: “Mary” pledges to help me lose my first 5 lbs. Mary can do this by calling on the phone, shooting out an email, going for a walk or working out with me. Its will be that simple.

We all know that it is better to get healthy with friends so….

SECOND --IF YOU WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT.
Please join me. Let’s making it fun by tossing some money into a pool and I would double the money with free jewelry for prizes. (There could be different categories depending how much weight you want to lose. 0-15 16-30 31-50 50+ everyone can earn tickets towards reaching their goal. The majority will rule with the details.)

Every year it’s the same thing and I can’t do it anymore. It is my hope that with your support this will break the cycle of me quitting before I reach my goal. I want to know if anyone is interested in participating in either or both options. Can’t wait to hear from you.

I was in Dr. Yorks office today and Dr York said that he would give my weight loss group a group discount. Weight us, give us exercises to do etc. If you were thinking of joining a gym let me know. He said to give him an approximate head count and he will give us a great price.

Okay, Marla, I am IN. iN THE LAST TWO WEEKS, I HAVE LOST 13 POUNDS on the Serotonin Power Diet which allows you to snack and balances out your food for health living. I too need to lose 100 pounds. If you just watch the Biggest Loser, you should be inspired. Some of those people have lost over 100 pounds or more in what, six months? That, of course, takes work but if we could lose 2 pounds a week, you and I Marla, would be at our goal weight in 50 weeks. Mile by mile, it's a trial, inch by inch it's a cinch.

NOW THIS IS A DECLARATION, BECAUSE THE WHOLE WORLD OF THE INTERNET KNOWS THAT " WE ARE OVERWEIGHT, TALK ABOUT BURNING YOUR BRIDGES!

Alright Joanne 13lbs!!! I love your inch cinch.

I emailed you a yahoo group for the diet. I have about 30 women who have said yes to a healthy 2008. There are 4 of us that want to lose over 100. Most of the ladies fall in the 40-50 range with some at 10-20. We are starting in Jan albeit a few started when they read the email.

Poor Susan above never got back to me for more information but we have someone from AZ too.

Okay...I'm late with this, so you are pounds ahead of me by now. I also need to lose between 50 and 60 lbs. After this last baby...I can't seem to shake it. I am up for a good healthy weight loss challenge. UPMC in Oakland is doing a weight loss study about the effects of sodium on weight loss and reversing cardiovascular issues. It is a one year commitement if they accept you, but it is a win win. You help them to do their research so that they can help others in the future,and they give you free nutrition and weight loss advice/support. I'm thinking about doing it. I set up an appointment with them for next wed. to see if I am a good candidate for the study.
