What thrills you ...
After interviewing Amy Ell, aerialist dancer, for an upcoming article on the psychology of risky arts (for a dance magazine), I discovered a bit of envy in myself. Alright I am down right jealous. What a thrill it is to do something a little different, off the earth?
She was amazing to talk too. Talented, interested, smart. I learned that although we perceive trapeze artists,aerial dancers to be gutless when they are dropping through the air wrapped in fabric that there is science, lots of training and a huge amount of trust involved. She too has limits, except they are broader than mine.
I was dreaming about my motorcycle. The freedom, being a little out there but still on the earth, and how good the wind on my face felt. I turned in my boots for parenthood.
In recent months I realize that I still need something that offers that excitement. Hmm-mm ... what now?
